The Queen's Rising by Rebecca Ross (Review)

Sometimes, its truly hard to decide what you want do you with your life and career. Nobody knows this better than Brienna. She wants to be a Passion, but cannot settle if she should be art, music, knowledge, dramatics or wit. She's what would be call a jack of all trades, master of none. And to top it off, there is a mystery revolving around her unknown father that just might be the death of her. If she does not find out the truth and and keep her own secrets at the same time, it could cause an war between the kingdoms.
I really enjoyed The Queen's Rising. It exceeded my expectations and was incredibly interesting. For the sake of not wanting to ruin any of it, I made my description in the paragraph above to give away the least of the interesting details of the story, your welcome ;). I was fairly impressed with the way that the plot kept me interesting with mysteries large and small. From huge things like the identity of her father is to small things like what her passion robe will look like. Brienna herself was a well developed and interesting character. She was not power hungry or destined for the limelight, but she fights for whats good and whats right anyway, it was quite refreshing. In the end, I recommend Queen's Rising for a nice weekend sit-down read and give it the rating of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!

Follow Me Back (Follow Me Back #1) by A.V. Geiger (Review)

Engaging and thrilling, Follow Me Back is a well paced adventure that puts the readers on edge as they follow the stories of a major pop star and a girl with agoraphobia. Terrified to even leave her room, Tessa only has contact with three people, her mom, her boyfriend Scott and her therapist. Isolated and alone Eric Thorn is hooked into a horrible record deal that is killing him. Lashing out at a random fan, Tessa, he inadvertently sparks a relationship that will become both of their lifelines, but as this goes on danger lurks in the background, waiting to pounce.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed Follow Me Back. I've never been a big fan of pop culture and I've never liked boy bands or artists like Justin Bieber. Heck I'm not much for social media on my own time, so when I started this novel I was patiently skeptical if I would enjoy it. I was happy to see that despite my none interest in some of the subject matter, the books was still very engaging and fun to read. I finished it in a day. The thrill of the mystery was well done and the plot twist at the end was really not something I had expected or predicted. I had been fairly sure I knew the end before it arrived, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was wrong. I was left excited to read the next novel in the series and give Follow Me Back the rating of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!

Amid Stars and Darkness (The Xenith Trilogy #1) by Chani Lynn Feener (Review)

I loved it!!!! Amid Stars and Darkness was an exciting outer space drama that has become my newest literary obsession. When an earth girl gets kidnapped one day being mistaken for an alien princess, she is thrown into an utterly insane world of assassinations, drama, mystery and romance. Ruckus has screwed up, he kidnapped a human named Delaney instead of the princess he is charged with protecting. Now its his job to keep her alive as she plays the part of the princess to prevent a massive war. As he does the passion sparks between him and her, with potential for great things, if he can keep her alive of course.
Wonderful and exciting, Amid Stars and Darkness delivered on all that was promised in the synopsis. I found myself riveted by the immersive world and story, and the characters were all very distinct from each other in a way that really enriched the reading experience. Delaney is a sassy, intelligent, intuitive and resilient main character, and her narration was funny and enjoyable to read. The plot was well paced and the characters each seemed pretty well developed. After finishing this novel, I died on the inside because, warning, there is a major cliff hanger at the end of the novel that has me clamoring to get the next installment of the series. I can't wait to read where the series will go. In the end, I loved Amid Stars and Darkness and recommend it. I give it the well earned rating of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!

Myths of Immortality (Sphinx #3) by Raye Wagner (Review)

The third instalment of the Sphinx series, Myths of Immortality continues the adventures of Hope as she tries to survive and break the curse that she was damned with from birth. She wants to be safe and free of Apollo, and will do anything, even go to hell to accomplish her goal. Following behind her are Xan and Athan, determined to save her and keep her out of harms way. As Hope delves deeper into her curse, the danger levels rise and enemies are made. If she wants to live, she'll need to have her wits about her.
Well written and engaging, Myths of Immortality takes readers on a mythological adventure full of gods, monsters and demigods. Continuing off from where Demigods and Monsters finished, readers are put right back into the action as Hope goes to Hades to save herself and her future. Hope is a very strong and capable heroine, who shows the ability to fall in love while also showing she doesn't need anybody to save her. She is perfectly capable of doing that herself. We see very little of the Sphinx aspect of her in this novel, but that didn't seem to take away from the excitement and mystic of the novel. Every novel in this series so far has successfully changed its environment to create a new and engaging feeling to the novel. It keeps things from feeling repetitive and allows the books to feel progressive. Novel by novel things get more and more in depth in the mythology its based in and the characters feel more matured and ready for larger challenges. This plays into rounding the characters and making them feel more real and developed. They each have aspects to their personalities that allow them to stand out from one another and be characters that the readers feel for. All in all, I really enjoyed Myths of Immortality and recommend the entire series. I give Myths of Immortality the rating of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!

Nemesis (Nemesis #1) by Anna Banks (Review)

Addicting, romantic and wonderfully creative, Nemesis throws readers into a wonderful magical world that seems to contain a fun hodgepodge of different environments varying from ancient Egypt to medieval times. In this world Princess Sepora is running away from her evil tyrant of a father to prevent a major and violent war. During her escape she is thrust into the royal court of the Pharaoh Tarik, a kind you ruler of an opposing kingdom, and things grow more and more complicated as she tries to help his people from within his court without revealing her own secret powers.
I loved Nemesis! Its amazing storytelling and fantastic character development had me engaged from page one. I loved both Sepora and Tarik infinitely. Sepora is an honourable, strong and intelligent character that is both emotionally deep and not whinny. That is a combo I have noticed to be surprisingly hard to come by in young adult novels. Tarik is a gentile, wise and intense romantic lead that takes the big and un-relatable challenge of ruling a kingdom at 18 and makes it something believable to readers from this century. On top of those two, there was a whole host of characters that just enriched the story along side them. Surround that with the amazingly engaging plot and you have an amazing book. I definitely recommend Nemesis and give it the rating of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!

Demigods and Monsters (Sphinx #2) by Raye Wagner (Review)

A fantastic second installment of the Sphinx series, Demigods and Monsters continues the story of Hope as she fights to stay safe and break the ancient curse the God Apollo placed on her family. Hope is a sphinx, a decedent of the ancient sphinx from Thebes, and she's on the run. Cursed to be a monster known as the sphinx, she's on the run from gods, demigods and Hades's minions. Leaving Athan and the town she was just getting comfortable in behind, Hope is desperately sneaks into a Conservatory for Demigods who would kill her if they knew what she was. Action packed and full of suspense and mystery, Demigods and Monsters had me at the edge of my seat.
Just like in The Curse of The Sphinx, Demigods and Monsters was addicting and left me wanting so much more! I love Hope, she is an extremely well rounded character who is strong and yet at the same time vulnerable. On a more shallow look at her, ever the idea of her is interesting to read about. From how she is on the run to her magical ability to shift into a sphinx, her character was great to read about. Plot wise, Demigods and Monster is very well developed. The story unraveled at a good pace that keeps readers on their toes and doesn't leave them board. The is plenty of mystery and plot twists in this novel that had me unable to put the book down and reading until four in the morning. Romance wise, this book was very good at keeping romantic tension without overdoing it or basing the entire plot off the romance aspect of the novel. I am hooked and simply cannot wait for the next installment of the series. I recommend both Demigods and Monsters, as well as the first book in the series The Curse of the Sphinx! I give Demigods and Monsters the high rating of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!

Dragon Mated (Supernatural Prison #3) by Jaymin Eve (Review)

Loooved it! The third installment of the Supernatural Prison series, Dragon Mated concludes the battle between Jessa Lebron and the evil dragon king and his minions. After being captured in the previous novel, Jessa Lebron will fight to the end to the end to get back to her pack and mate, and take down her kidnapper in the process if she has anything to do about it. Facing insane odds, she and her pack will take on the dragon king and his army of dragon marked to not only save themselves, but the entire world.
This book was great. Picking up from the cliff hanger in the previous novel, it is chock full of danger, action, romance and suspense. I still love the magical connection between Jessa, her mate and his three brothers (the Compass quads). Each character was unique, lovable and showed so much love to each other it was impossible to not fangirl over them. Romance wise, the book was pretty darn good and the male romantic lead, Braxton, was fantastic. He is definitely swoon worthy. I definitely recommend this book but fair warning, this novel does contain mature 18+ content. I give Dragon Mated the rating of  FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!

Wendy Darling: Stars (Wendy Darling #1) by Colleen Oakes (Review)

Amazing, dangerous and intense; Wendy Darling: Stars brings readers into the world of Peter Pan and Neverland from their childhoods, but with a dark twist. When the infamous Pan comes into the lives of the Darlings, their lives are thrown into chaos and are infected with a dark, dangerous magic. With mystery and death around every corner, Wendy Darling does everything she can do to survive and keep her brothers intact.
I loved this novel. Its storytelling was masterful and its characters were amazing. Each moment of the story was captivating, drawing the readers in and hooking them so they simply cannot get enough of it. Wendy is a strong, lovable and highly intelligent character. Her reactions to the world and her action in the world of Neverland are done perfectly, pushing on the plot and the story. There is romance in this novel, and I thought it was tastefully done and left me wanting more. Wendy's brothers were each unique and very well developed, especially the five year old. I loved that child, and as I read all I wanted to do was give that kid a big hug. He was extremely adorable. This novel is action pack and on the darker side. I was hooked from the beginning to the end, and cannot wait until the next novel in the series is released! I definitely recommend Wendy Darling: Stars, and give it the rating of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!

Dragon Mystics (Supernatural Prison #2) by Jaymin Eve (Review)

Love it!! The second installment of the Supernatural Prison series, Dragon Mystics continues the epic and intense saga of Jessa Lebron and her quadruplet best friends and pack mates. Early warning, there is 18+ content in this novel. Anyway, in this novel, Jessa and her pack are fleeing from The Four and are trying to prevent and ancient prophecy about the evil Dragon King rising again to concur the supernatural world from coming into place.
I loved this novel as much as I did the first one. The writing is addicting and the character dynamics were perfect and entertaining. Each character in this novel was introduced into the story and developed fluidly and seamlessly. Dragon Mystics is full of twists and turns that kept me invested and addicted to the story. I was blown away by the sheer element of entertainment this book has. I found myself chuckling, gasping and tensing with the story. It was a perfect pass time read. I am ecstatic to read the next novel in the series and cannot wait until it it published. I definitely recommend Dragon Mystics, and the whole Supernatural prison series. Dragon Marked (Supernatural Prison #1) by Jaymin Eve (Review)

Dragon Marked is amazing and addicting! Set in a universe of supernaturals, an alpha wolf and her adoptive pack mates, four unique and awesome brothers, set off in an action packed and riveting adventure that will change their lives forever. Their world is chock full of wizards, fey, wolf shifters, dragon shifters, demi-fey, witches, trolls and a plethora of other magical creatures. Faced with the curse of being Dragon Marked, Jessa Lebron's life is turned upside down as she becomes the hunted because of a thousand year old superstition and story.
Right from the get-go I was sucked into the story and was addicted. I LOVED this book. It's narrative voice is truly unique and probably one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of reading. The dynamic between Jessa and the Compass brothers can be described in one word: perfect. From their witty banter to their heart warming affectionate and protective behavior. I have never read of anything similar before in my life. I cannot get enough of this pack of friends. Jessa, the main character, was fabulous. She was witty, lovable, rounded, intellectual, strong and kick-butt. Her internal dialogue was addicting. Plot wise, the story was on point. It had plot twists and suspense that kept the readers interested and invested in the novel and its goings on. I was blown away by the sheer awesomeness of this novel and am super excited to read the rest of the series.
I loved this book and definitely recommend it as a worthwhile read, esspecially if you are a lover of the paranormal/fantasy genre. I give Dragon Marked the perfect rating of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!

Portia (Angelbound Offspring #2) by Christina Bauer (Review)

The next novel in the Angelbound Offspring series, Portia was romantic and witty addition to the series. In the Angelbound universe, the dimensions are in danger again, but this not from one foe, but this time from simply falling apart at the seams. A expert on the special form of dangers and on the energy that hold everything together, Princess Portia steps up to save everybody. Alongside her comes a strange man... dragon? He seems to have a strong interested in Portia, and in this book their adventure unfolds.
I loved this novel. Portia herself struck me as an extremely diverse and kick-butt character. She is powerful, smart and has her moments of witty humor. I though her character development was stellar and very well done. I enjoyed reading her internal dialogue and watching her life enroll before my eyes. The plot was very well thought out, and the romantic tension was almost perfect. Action packed, this book keeps a readers attention and draws them into the story.
My experience with all books by this author have all been amazing. I love knowing that in every novel by Christina Bauer, you are always going to get five star romances and super entertaining characters. I cannot wait for the next novel she releases. I without a doubt recommend Portia and the entire Angelbound series, I have simply loved every novel that has been published. I give Portia FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!

The Libby Garrett Intervention (Science Squad Series #2) by Kelly Oram (Review)

The second installment of The Science Squad series, in The Libby Garrett Intervention takes us on another adorable love story. Libby Garrett is a cat loving, taco in space shirt wearing crazy girl with a big heart. She is pretty much the internet as a person. She struggles with self esteem and ends up falling for a guy who is emotionally abusive to her, but has her addicted to him. Thus comes forth the Libby Garrett Intervention. A step by step process to help Libby, with a Intervention leader who is smexy (smart and sexy) as all heck.
I loved this novel. I love the whole series really. It's characters are real, and they seem to have real struggles in the sense of anxiety and low self esteem. Added to their quirky and hilarious personalities, its hard not to fall in love with them. The romance in this novel was perfectly done. I loved the tension, the dynamics, the witty banter and the respectful behaviors that transpired between Adam and Libby.  I felt it was refreshing to have a larger girl be the romantic female lead for once, because it definitely is a rarity. Libby is super funny and I found it very easy to identify with her. Adam, the male romantic lead, is awesome. I fell in love with him the moment he was introduced into the story. Both the plot and the characters were very well developed and an absolute blast to read.
I adore this novel and definitely recommend it to romance lovers. I give The Libby Garrett Intervention FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!

Quanta (The Shadow Ravens #2) by Lola Dodge and Aileen Erin (Review)

The second novel in The Shadow Ravens series, Quanta introduces readers to a future seeing red helix named Quanta. Kept in a laboratory for years on end, Quanta is forced to read the future to for her enemies and torturers. Through this she has survived, and it looks like help is finally on it's way, in the form of a handsome Shadow Raven undercover.
I loved this novel. I thought it was riveting, intense and romantic. I was captivated by the narration and the internal dialogue of the main characters, Quanta and Altair Orpheus. Both characters are diverse and lovable. The plot itself is captivating and very well developed. I found that the characters were also awesomely developed. By the end of the story, I felt that the characters were so rounded and solid I could talk about them as if I knew them in real life. This is the second novel in the series, after Cipher, and holds up the high standards Cipher had put down. Both novels are intense, action packed and ultimately adorably romantic. The romantic tension between Quanta and Altair was thick and tangible. I totally recommend Quanta, especially to romance lovers, and give Quanta the star rating of FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS!
