Tarnished (Perfected #2) by Kate Jarvik Birch (Review)

The second installment of the Perfected Series, Tarnished continues the intense and dark story in the world where humans are bred to be the upper class pets. After escaping to the safety of Canada, all Ella wants to do is go back into the danger to be with the man she loves once again, Penn. Being a Pet, she is in constant danger as she continues her story throughout the novel.
Tarnished was dark, and was definitely a deeper story then what was just on the surface. It talks about the consumer mind set we have, the way media panders to us with our short mindedness as viewers, and gives a warning of how easy it would be to slip back into mistreating other human beings and start treating them as less. I found this novel thought provoking and interesting. Not all the characters were perfectly developed, but on average they were fairly well done. The plot was a little bumpy but was ultimately satisfying. Ella is a beautiful character that grows and changes with the story, making the story even better. I did enjoy reading Tarnished and give it FOUR OUT OF FIVE STARS!!!
