Queen Fae (NYC Mecca #3) by Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone (Review)

The third installment of the NYC Mecca series, Queen Fae continues the story of Arianna, the queen of the were-wolves and true mate of Kade, the king of the wolf shifters. Violet has been kidnapped by the Fae and Arianna with do absolutely anything to get her back. She is ready to bring down her wrath on the kidnappers. Sneaking into the Fae lands with her personal guard and king Kade, she goes on a mission to save Violet, stop a war, and to restore the balance to the Mecca. Along the way she will be have to deal with great dangers and fights for their lives.
Not the best installment in the series, Queen Fae was mediocre. It continued the plot and progressed the romance between Arianna and Kade, but ultimately it was not as incredibly epic as the first book in the series. I really think that all of the novels in the series could have been brought together into one book and have felt more seamless and engaging. The plot development was still very good and it was entertaining to read, it's just not AS interesting as the beginning of the series. Kade is still a very interesting character and the magic/shifter feel of the novel was fun to read on. All in all, I give Queen Fae the rating of FOUR OUT OF FIVE STARS!

Excerpt:
The shock of her revelation hit me so hard my body was ripped from the dream state and I woke up panting. Kade was immediately alert, his hands tightening on me as he pulled me closer. I blinked a few times as droplets of liquid fell into my eyes; my whole body was covered in a thin sheen of sweat. As I met Kade’s dark gaze, my breathing stuttered. Could Violet be right? Holy shifter gods, what had my mother done?
“Arianna!” The deep tones cut through my disorientation, and I realized Kade had been calling my name for some time. He growled then, before turning to yell for Nikoli.
I dropped my hand onto his chest, which had his eyes right back on me. “What happened? Are you okay?”
I nodded and shook my head at the same time, trying to figure out how to answer. “Violet just appeared to me in my dream. She’s hurt – they’re hurting her.”

Queen Heir (NYC Mecca #1) by Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone (Review)

Another wonderful series from Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone, Queen Heir throws the reader into a world of shape shifters and magic along side a creative and wonderful cast of characters. Arianna is an heir to the thrown of her people, the wolf shifters, but she is not the only one. Along side her, other heir exist and when tragedy strikes and the queen dies, she is forced to compete against them to rule the kingdom... or die.
Action packed and exciting Queen Heir intermingles more paranormal into this series then she has in previous series. It makes for an interesting and new feel to the series for her long time fans and followers. Arianna is a kick butt and take names heroine that know what she wants and goes for it. Her intelligent and strong demeanour was cleverly wrapped around a very well rounded character with awesome powers. Almost all of the cast of Queen Heir are very well developed and have distinct personalities, which was very nice to read. Romance wise, Queen Heir gave you just enough to stay hooked with the promise of more. Although this story was not a full blown romance, it held its own when it came to romantic tension and intrigue. Plot wise, Queen Heir was solid but it was definitely a stand alone. If you are not willing to take on a series, I don't recommend reading this novel because once you start, you won't be satisfied until you compleat the entire series. All in all, I really enjoyed Queen Heir and give it the rating of FOUR AND A HALF STARS OUT OF FIVE!!!

Excerpt:
Finally, when the sun had long set in the sky and our world was filled with shadows, he turned to me. His stare was … it was dark. And a part of me broke as I returned that gaze, helpless to tear myself away.
“What?” I finally managed to ask.
He reached out as if he was going to touch me. His huge hand stilled inches from my face, and I was struggling to breathe, struggling not to sob. Emotions were ricocheting through me, and I knew everything was about to change. I could feel it in the ache that had spread all the way into my soul.
His voice rumbled out. “I’m not happy.”

Ash (Hive Trilogy #1) by Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone (Review)

In a world of vampires and humans, the Ash arrive. The Ash are a vampire and human hybrid children, and they are always all male. Well, at least until Charlie Bennet comes around. She is the first female Ash ever, but that does not make her life any easier. The Ash are culled and have to fight to the death, and now Charlie is in the culling. In a world full of action, romance, danger and adventure Charlie fights for her life while uncovering the mystery of her existence.
I very much enjoyed Ash. Charlie is a cool witty character that was very interesting and fun to read about. I was worried about the story because vampires felt a little overdone, but I was pleasantly surprised by how different from the usual vampire stories Ash felt. Romance wise, Ash was pretty good. I really enjoyed the tension between the romantic lead and Charlie. The character developement in this story was also very well done, which did not surprise me because I have read Jaymin Eve's works in the past and each are chock full of unique and awesome characters. I totally recommend Ash and give it the rating of FOUR AND A HALF STARS OUT OF FIVE!!!
