Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore (Review)

Nope nope nope nope. Wild Beauty is a mess of a story that doesn't really have a well planned and driven plot. I did not enjoy reading it. It takes place in an undefined time frame that is modern? 18th century with cell phones? Who even knows? It has elements of magic, but the magic isn't rule bound and that leaves for a lot of confusion and loss and direction when it came to the reading experience. When a young mystery boy just appears out of the ground, a family of magical flower women's lives are thrown into upheaval. Who is he? Why did the magical ground give him to them?
This book took forever to get through since it was so boring and directionless for the most part. All of the characters (specifically the cousins/ the main freaking characters) were all blurred together. I couldn't keep them straight or even muster up any care for them and their well being. They were all the same character with only small personality differences to try to set them apart. Wild Beauty was truly a chore to read and I absolutely do not recommend it. I give Wild Beauty the rating of ONE AND A HALF STARS OUT OF FIVE!
